How to export BNZ transactions as CSV

After this guide, you'll be able to: download your BNZ transaction history as a CSV file and import it into Owdyn

Before you start: You'll need access to BNZ Internet Banking at bnz.co.nz.

Published 30 April 2026

  1. 1

Log in to BNZ Internet Banking

Go to bnz.co.nz and click Log in. Enter your access number and password. Complete 2FA if prompted.

  2. 2

    Navigate to your account

From the accounts overview, click the account you want to export — BNZ Everyday, Rapid Save, Goal Save, or credit card.

  3. 3

    Open Transaction History

Click Transactions within the account. BNZ shows recent transactions by default. Use the date filter to extend the range.

  4. 4

    Set your date range

Use the search or filter controls to set a custom date range. BNZ supports up to 12 months per export. Start with 3 months for a first import.

  5. 5

    Export as CSV

Click Export or the download icon near the transaction list. Choose CSV when prompted. The file saves to your downloads folder.

  6. 6

    Import into Owdyn

In Owdyn, go to Accounts, select the matching account, click Import CSV, upload the BNZ file. Owdyn maps BNZ's columns and checks for duplicates automatically.

What happens next

Your BNZ transactions will be imported and ready to categorise. Re-importing the same file later is safe — Owdyn's duplicate detection prevents double-counting.
