Your login stays with your bank

CSV import means your TSB credentials never leave TSB. And when automatic bank sync arrives for Plus and Wise plans (in testing now), it runs through Akahu — New Zealand’s accredited open banking intermediary — so your password is still never shared with Owdyn. Read more on our security page.

TSB + Owdyn, answered

Do I need to give Owdyn my TSB internet banking login?

No — never. Owdyn works from CSV statement files you download from TSB yourself, so your internet banking credentials stay with your bank. Automatic bank sync (in testing, coming to Plus and Wise plans) uses Akahu, New Zealand's accredited open banking intermediary — and even then your password is never shared with Owdyn.

Is it safe to import TSB statements into Owdyn?

Yes. Statement files contain transaction history — dates, descriptions, amounts — not your login. Everything you import is encrypted in transit and at rest, is never sold or shared for marketing, and you can export or delete your data at any time.

How much TSB history can I import?

As much as TSB lets you export — most NZ banks offer at least several months, and you can import multiple files. Owdyn detects duplicates across imports, so overlapping files are safe.

Will my TSB transactions be categorised automatically?

Yes. Owdyn recognises hundreds of NZ merchants on sight — Countdown, Z Energy, Uber Eats, PB Tech and more — and applies your custom rules to anything it misses. Set a rule once and it never asks again.

Owdyn works with every NZ bank via CSV import. See all banks on the banks hub.
