Use Owdyn with Kiwibank

Kiwibank customers can run their whole budget through Owdyn today. Export your transactions from Kiwibank internet banking, import the CSV, and Owdyn’s NZ merchant recognition sorts your spending before you touch a thing.

Up and running in minutes

  1. 1

    Log in to Kiwibank

Go to kiwibank.co.nz and click Log in. Use your Kiwibank username and password — the same ones you use in their mobile app.

  2. 2

Open the account you want to export

From the accounts overview, click the account to export — Free Cheque, Notice Saver, or Kiwibank Visa credit card.

  3. 3

    Open the transaction list

Click Transactions or View all transactions. Kiwibank loads the transaction list for that account.

  4. 4

    Set your date range

Use the filter or date search to select your range. Kiwibank supports up to 12 months of history. For a first import, 3 months is a practical starting point.

  5. 5

    Export as CSV

Click Export or the download icon. Select CSV when prompted. The file saves to your downloads folder.

  6. 6

    Import the file into Owdyn

In Owdyn, go to Accounts, select the matching account, click Import CSV, and upload the Kiwibank file. Owdyn maps the column format and date format automatically.

Kiwibank internet banking can download your transaction history as a CSV file — check the export/download option on your account history.

Your login stays with your bank

Automatic bank sync on Plus and Wise runs through Akahu — New Zealand’s accredited open banking intermediary — so your Kiwibank password is never shared with Owdyn. And CSV import, free on every plan, keeps your credentials with Kiwibank entirely. Read more on our security page.

Kiwibank + Owdyn, answered

Do I need to give Owdyn my Kiwibank internet banking login?

No — never. If you connect Kiwibank automatically on Plus or Wise, that runs through Akahu, New Zealand's accredited open banking intermediary, so your password goes to Akahu's secure flow and never to Owdyn. If you import a CSV instead — free on every plan — you export the file yourself from Kiwibank internet banking and your credentials stay with Kiwibank entirely.

How much Kiwibank history can I import?

Up to 12 months. Three months is a practical starting point for a first import — you can add earlier files later, and Owdyn detects overlaps so nothing is counted twice.

Can I export from the Kiwibank mobile app?

Use the desktop site — export options in the mobile app are limited. Open the account, click Transactions or View all transactions, then Export and choose CSV.

Which Kiwibank accounts can I import?

Everyday accounts, Savings and Notice Saver accounts, credit cards and joint accounts. Export each separately; Owdyn maps the column and date format automatically.

Sync covers the banks Akahu supports; CSV import works with any NZ bank. See all banks on the banks hub.
