Do I need to give Owdyn my ASB internet banking login?
No — never. Owdyn works from CSV statement files you download from ASB yourself, so your internet banking credentials stay with your bank. Automatic bank sync (in testing, coming to Plus and Wise plans) uses Akahu, New Zealand's accredited open banking intermediary — and even then your password is never shared with Owdyn.
Is it safe to import ASB statements into Owdyn?
Yes. Statement files contain transaction history — dates, descriptions, amounts — not your login. Everything you import is encrypted in transit and at rest, is never sold or shared for marketing, and you can export or delete your data at any time.
How much ASB history can I import?
As much as ASB lets you export — most NZ banks offer at least several months, and you can import multiple files. Owdyn detects duplicates across imports, so overlapping files are safe.
Will my ASB transactions be categorised automatically?
